Not everything has to be an heirloom. These are the reliable options, and they are the correct answer when you do not know the couple well or the milestone is a smaller one.

Why the venue works as a gift

Almost every other wedding keepsake is about the couple, and they already have those. The building is the part nobody thinks to keep. It is usually still standing, it is photographable today, and for a lot of couples it is the only place in the world that means what it means because of them.

Finding a photograph of the venue

In order: the wedding album, which often has one exterior shot nobody looks at; a sibling or a cousin who was there; the venue's own website, if it still trades; and a street level map view, which is legitimate and often the cleanest image available.

What matters is that the building is square to the camera and mostly unobstructed, in daylight, with the whole facade in frame. Parked cars and summer trees are the usual obstacles, and a winter photograph often shows more of a building than a summer one.

Timing it

Work backwards from the anniversary. Allow 5 to 10 business days for a made to order piece plus shipping, and considerably longer for photo restoration or anything bound by hand, which is often several weeks.
